              It was at Kamarpukur which is adorned with the beauty of nature and evergreens, that Sri Ramakrishna Paramhamsa was born in 1836 in a poor brahmin family. With his advent and on account of the frequent visits of his disciples and devotees, this hamlet has become a place of pilgrimage. Thousands visit it every year from the various parts of the world and get spiritually refreshed and elevated.

1. Birth Place of Sri Ramakrishna

House of Sri Ramakrishna

There is the sacred place where Sri Ramakrishna was born on 18th February, 1836 enlightening the house of Khudiram Chattapadhyay and Channdramani Devi. In those time, houses were built of mud and thatched presenting a nice look of hamlet.

Ramakrishna Math and Ramakrishna Mission

Built in 1951, Ramakrishna Math, Kamarpukur besides preserving the memory and moments of Sri Ramakrishna, engaged in a wide range of works of Service and inspiring to devotion.

Yogi's Shiva Temple

The famous temple situated just entering the gate, involving the auspicious event of a divine light entering the body of Chandramani Devi.

Temple of Sri Ramakrishna's house-deity Sri Raghuvira

The house deity Sri Raghuvira and also Ma Sitala in a pitcher stays here. The custom of the family was that they did not eat before offering in the morning.

Daughter of Laha established this temple. She loved Child Gadadhar for his charming voice of singing devotional songs.

One of few gratified people recognized Him in His childhood days as the divine himself outing to the earth. He loved Him a lot and fed him something when He met him. He bemoaned that He will do lifelong Lila (works), but he would not able to see.
